Using rebates is one of the best ways to save on a new heating and cooling system. Starting in August, homeowners in our area have a chance to save big on a new HVAC system using valuable HVAC rebates.

This fall, rebates are available through the Electrical Association of Philadelphia, Carrier Cool Cash, PECO, and Mitsubishi Electric are available for new heating and cooling equipment. Depending on the system you select and your eligibility, you may qualify for multiple incentives that reduce the upfront cost of installing your new HVAC system.

Why Fall Is a Good Time to Replace Your HVAC System

Many homeowners wait until their heating or cooling system stops working before considering replacement. We are used to getting lots of calls on the coldest days of winter, or the hottest days of summer, hearing about a unit that’s stopped working. 

Unfortunately, this isn’t an ideal situation for anyone, and usually forces homeowners into making a decision to replace the system out of necessity. This is why we encourage homeowners who think it may almost be time to replace their HVAC system to do so while rebates are available! 

Rebates only last so long, and most of the ones we will tell you about in this article expire in November, before the coldest days of the winter when heating systems break down. 

Replacing your HVAC system proactively this fall offers several benefits:

• Take advantage of limited-time manufacturer and local rebates
• Prepare your home before the coldest weather arrives
• Reduce the risk of an unexpected heating system breakdown
• Improve comfort and temperature consistency
• Lower your monthly heating costs with a more energy efficient system
• Take time to make a decision, rather than being forced into it by a broken system

A few signs that it may be time for a new system would be: 

• Frequent breakdowns and repairs being needed 
• Higher energy bills than usual due to lost efficiency
• Your system is more than 12 years old
• Your system doesn’t keep your home as comfortable as it should

If you are ready to upgrade your HVAC system, here are some of the rebates available to save money on a new heating and cooling system: 

Electrical Association of Philadelphia HVAC Rebates

The Electrical Association of Philadelphia, also known as EAP, offers instant rebates for qualifying high-efficiency residential HVAC systems. Even though we aren’t located in Philadelphia, these rebates are available in our suburbs of the city, and John Cipollone Inc. is an approved contractor for these rebates! 

During the Fall 2026 program, eligible homeowners can receive a rebate ranging from $250 to $1,650, depending on the equipment installed. The fall program applies to qualifying contracts signed between August 3 and November 13, 2026.

Unlike a traditional mail-in rebate, an EAP rebate is applied directly to the homeowner’s invoice through a participating contractor. This means there is no waiting for a reimbursement check after the installation, you get your discount right away! 

Qualifying equipment includes certain complete, high-efficiency heating and cooling systems. The specific rebate depends on the system type and efficiency rating. Usually, the more efficient the system, the more expensive it is, and you qualify for a bigger rebate! 

Eligible EAP incentives may also be combined with PECO rebates when applicable, giving homeowners another opportunity to increase their total savings. 

Because the program has specific equipment requirements and a limited amount of available funding, we recommend homeowners take a look at this and start exploring their options, before it’s too late and the program is over!  Learn more about the EAP homeowner rebate program.

Carrier Cool Cash Rebates

Carrier is one of our favorite brands to install, and for a few reasons. These systems are reliable, and come from the company that invented air conditioners. Carrier provides some of the best heat pumps, furnaces, and HVAC equipment in the industry. Luckily, they also offer significant rebates on their equipment, but for a limited time. 

Carrier is offering rebates of up to $1,700 on qualifying systems purchased between August 1 and November 20, 2026. Eligible equipment can include select Carrier air conditioners, heat pumps, furnaces, and complete home comfort systems.

The exact rebate amount depends on the equipment installed, just like the EAP rebates mentioned above. The more efficient/more expensive the system, the greater the rebate will be. 

To qualify, the system must also be installed and the rebate claim submitted by Carrier’s deadline. This is another case of rebates concluding before the winter begins, just like the EAP rebates. PECO Heating and Cooling Rebates

The most popular energy provider in our region is PECO, who also offers some more moderate rebates. Their customers may also qualify for rebates when installing ENERGY STAR®-certified heating and cooling equipment.

Current PECO incentives include:

• Air-source heat pumps: $200–$300
• Central air conditioning systems: $150–$200
• Ductless mini-split heat pumps: $150–$300
• Air-source heat pump maintenance: $25
• ECM fan motors: $50

Mitsubishi Electric Ductless Rebates

Another one of our favorite systems to install is a ductless mini split system, which Mitsubishi specializes in. These systems use a condenser outside, which connects to a cassette inside that distributes the cool or hot air. 

This fall, Mitsubishi is offering rebates ranging from $100 to $300 on qualifying ductless heating and air conditioning equipment.

Ductless mini-split systems are particularly useful for:

• Home additions and renovated spaces
• Bedrooms that are consistently too hot or cold
• Finished basements and attics
• Home offices
• Older homes without existing ductwork
• Garages, workshops, and bonus rooms
• Homes looking to create separate comfort zones

Mitsubishi ductless heat pumps provide both heating and cooling from one system, making them a year round solution. Their zoned design allows homeowners to control the temperature in individual rooms without conditioning areas that are not being used. This is why they are great for additions and homes that don’t need comfort in every space all the time.

Can You Combine Multiple HVAC Rebates?

In some situations, homeowners may be able to combine rebates from different programs. For example, qualifying EAP rebates may be combined with eligible PECO rebates. Manufacturer promotions may provide additional savings depending on the brand, model, installation date, and individual program rules.

However, not every rebate applies to every system, and incentives cannot always be combined. Before choosing new equipment, it is important to confirm:

• Whether the system meets the required efficiency rating
• Whether your property is located within the eligible service area
• Whether the installation must be completed by a participating contractor
• Whether multiple rebates can be used on the same project
• When the contract, installation, and rebate submission must be completed
• What documentation is required
